GDI Inaugurates Lagos Chapter
The Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI) has inaugurated its local government executives members in Lagos State.
Lagos State Co-ordinator, GDI, Mr Richard Oru, made this known at the inauguration exercise of the local government executive officials in the state last Thursday in Lagos, saying the development is to push for Chief Wike’s presidential ambition in 2023.
He said, “today we have come together to establish GDI in Lagos and in this place, we have all the LGA chairmen and the state exco members which constitute of 39 members that form the excos.
“The reasons why we have come together to form GDI in Lagos is that we have come to support His Excellence, Gov. Nyesom Wike for his presidential ambition in 2023.
“We are poised to give him all the support and we are ready to position and grow membership in all LGs and wards across the Lagos State and even in very remote environments.
“We are sure that we will definitely push this movement to a very strong force”.
Oru said he believed that the group would become one of the most formidable ones in terms of independent political groups initiative ideology”.
The group leader said he had initiated and inaugurated LGA coordinators and the state excos had given them the structure to follow so they would go home and come up with their members.
According to him, “We will also follow them up to ensure that the LGA and wards exco members comprise members that can perform and grow the membership even in the remote areas.
Oru noted that the group was looking at raising funds from well-meaning Nigerians that they had spoken to about Wike’s presidential ambition.
“Hence, because of the love that they have for him, they have given us the assurance that they will support us to ensure that this comes to limelight”.
“Their support was to ensure that such man is giving the opportunity to serve the country as the president of Nigeria.
