CP Orders Investigation To Rescue Kidnapped Eguma
The Commissioner of Police Enugu State Command, Mohammed Aliyu, has ordered his men to go into full time investigation in order to ensure the rescue of Stanley Eguma, Head Coach of Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt.
Aliyu further ordered that the yet to be identified gunmen who were alleged to have kidnapped Eguma, on Monday, should be arrested and prosecuted.
This was contained in statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Enugu State, ASP, Daniel Ndukwe, which was made available to Tidesports yesterday.
According to the statement, the Head Coach was abducted at Enugu- Port Harcourt Expressway, at about 4:00pm on his way to Port Harcourt from Gombe State.
“I enjoin members of the public with useful information that will assist the Command in the ongoing investigation, to endeavour to provide same to nearby Police Station,” CP Aliyu said.
The Commissioner of Police explained that Eguma was abducted by unidentified gunmen in a white coloured- Hilux van, which trailed and forced a black coloured Hilux van, conveying them to stop, while coming from Gombe to Port Harcourt.
It further alleged that the assailants pushed out two of the occupants, made away with the vehicle and abducted the victim in the process.
