Institute Graduates 111 Students In Two Years
The Port Harcourt campus of the African Centre for Leadership Strategy and Development, has graduated over 111 students since its inception two years ago.
A breakdown of the figures shows that 30 students were graduated in 2019 while 80 graduated this year.
The centre is being run by Kebetkache Women Development and Resource Centre.
The Executive Director of Karho Kebetkache Women Development and Resource Centre, Emem Okon said the centre was set up to train leaders by attempting to unravel the complexity of leadership and offer a framework that will help people become great leaders.
Emem who spoke at the second batch graduation ceremony in Port Harcourt, said the school was meant for people who are motivated to become leaders and want the tools to become dynamic, strategic and visionary leaders that will transform organisations and nations.
She said students of the institution are drawn from across the South South region of Nigeria. Speaking on the topic: “Leadership and Development within the Niger Delta,” Professor Ben Naanen urged for transparent leadership in the Niger Delta.
Professor Naanen also called on the graduands to show leadership examples in their various places of endeavour.
In a valedictory speech, the Governor, Batch 2 of the centre, Dr (Mrs) Christie Iwezor, said the institution could shape the future, if the graduands could demonstrate what they had learnt in their various homes and offices.
“The future is not cast in stone, we can shape the future with our actions, choices and contributions, however small, because we are now better equipped and impacted to do exploits”, she said.
