Woke Hails Wonodi’s Exemplary Life At 70
The Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engineer Chukwuemeka Woke has described the President of Ikwerre Chiefs and Elders Forum, Eze Paul Wonodi as a defender of truth.
He also eulogised him as one who builds enduring bridges of friendship.
Woke stated this at the 70th Birthday Thanksgiving Mass of Eze Wonodi at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Rumuoro, Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Government Area.
The Chief of Staff also noted that Eze Wonodi was a diligent man who uses every opportunity at his disposal to foster healthy community living.
“The number of people that have come to celebrate him shows that he is a good man. We thank God for granting him good health.
“Eze Paul Wonodi is a man of wisdom. He has been so from birth. He is that blessed and we have watched him utilise the little opportunities God has given to him to bless mankind.
“As you know, 70 years is biblical. He has attained it in good health,” he said.
On his part, the former Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Dr. Chidi Lloyd said Eze Wonodi was a dependable ally.
He noted how the elder statesmen painstakingly groomed notable politicians in the area who have in turn become trusted party members and leaders.
“It is a thing of joy to be part of this celebration. He is a man who has worked very hard and God has blessed him so much.
“We are tapping into his blessings, of character, age and good health. He is a man who has groomed many politicians in this local government. We are grateful to God for his life”, he stated.
Eze Paul Wonodi is also the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Emohua Local Government Area.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
