Rivers PDP’ll Be More United, Stronger After Congresses Dennis Naku
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State says it is ready for the party’s congresses scheduled for this weekend.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Darlington Orji who disclosed this in Port Harcourt said already all hands are on deck to ensure the success of the congresses..
Orji further said the PDP in the state will come out stronger, more united and fortified for future elections after the primaries; noting that the state PDP is one happy family.
According to him, “”Rivers State PDP is a family. We have agreed to do our things in one accord. Preparations are on top gear. You don’t expect us to be shouting like other political parties that are not organised because we have leadership and we resect leadership.
“By the special grace of God, from the 7th of March, starting from the ward congresses to the zonal and national congresses that will be coming up around April, we expect the process to be hitch-free”
The Publicity Secretary however denied the allegation that candidates were handpicked ahead of the party congresses, describing Governor Nyesom Wike as a democrat who will do everything to keep the party together, rather than allow it to divide.
“The fastest killer in the world is fear and when fear kills you then your performance and participation in the process will make no meaning. The Governor is a democrat who believes in the tenets of the law and I believe that PDP must be one.
“He is true leader of the party in the state and as such his duty is not to disintegrate the party, his duty is to make sure that the party come together and become very strong. All members of the party know that is exactly what he is doing, “the state PDP spokesman stated.
