Bayelsa Guber Poll: Aspirant Promises To Revolutionalise Industrial Sector
A governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Chief Bestman Festus, has vowed to revolutionalised the industrial sector with development of a major feeder cargo and shipping hub valued at $6 billion if elected Governor.
Mr Felix Perewarifagha, the Public Relations Officer of the “Bestman Festus Campaign Organisation’’, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
The Tide source reports that Festus is contesting the November 16 governorship election on the platform of Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP).
He also adopted a workable plan to install 2,000 Mega Watt Power Plant to the state through Public Private Partnership initiative.
The PRO further said that the governorship candidate projected N4 billion as monthly Internal Generated Revenue (IGR).
He pledged to focus on creating high paying employment for the youths and other able bodied persons who wished to work.
“Economic development policies that guarantee jobs for the youths signifies the sensitivity of any government.
“This is the reason why I am running for Governor. Youths Redemption from unemployment and social pressure reduction is my strategic political objective.
“Bayelsa needs more than one Seaport. Lagos has two seaports at about a kilometre distance. I vow to use our sea to create 100,000 direct and 300,000 indirect employments.
“As President of Niger Delta Business Roundtable (NDBR), I met with investors who spent money and time to carry out both aerial and physical survey on a seaport project in our state.
“ However, we were frustrated by our leaders from carrying out this project since 2014.
“These investors spoke with me even yesterday that they will be in Creek Haven within two months of my swearing in, when elected, to commence this project in the Akassa and Koluama axis”, he said.
