Rivers Varsity Promises To Host Mathematics Confab
The management of Rivers State University, (RSU) Port Harcourt has pledged to host the annual general conference of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria in September, 2019.
The institution also resolved to partner with the association to encourage and promote the teaching and learning of mathematics in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Blessing Didia, stated this while receiving the leadership of Mathematics Association of Nigeria who paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt, over the weekend.
Prof Blessing Didia averred that the hosting of the conference would be beneficial to the institution and charged relevant departments and faculties to put in place modalities that would ensure effective and successful hosting of the event. Responding, the Vice President of Mathematics Association of Nigeria, Dr Sele Ebisine, who led the delegation thanked the Vice Chancellor for approving the hosting of the conference by the university that is due in September.
Dr Ebisine noted that the conference would have huge positive impact on the state in view of its strategic position in the economy of the nation.
