Ogbakor Etche Tasks Politicians On Peace
ASocio-Cultural organisation of Etche Ethnic Nationality, Ogbakor Etche, has sued for peace and unity among Etche sons and daughters with view to fast- tracking the development of Etche nation.
This was part of a resolution at the end of the 2019 Easter Convention of the orgainsation in Okehi, headquarters of Etche Local Government Area.
The organisation also urged for an investment forum where sons and daughters of Etche ethnic nationality will gather together to discuss the economic problem of Etche.
The convention also said that politics should not be self- seeking but should be for the interest of all.
Declaring the convention opene, the Onye-Ishi Etche, Ochie E.N.B. Opurum stressed the need for all communities in Etche ethnic nationality to be security conscious and to expose criminals within the area.
Ochie Opurum also urged both the Etche and Omuma Local Government Councils to support the security agencies and local vigilantes to eliminate cultism, kidnapping, armed robbery and other social vices in the areas.
He also urged politicians in Etche ethnic nationality not to see politics as a way of enriching themselves but to develop Etche nation and write their names in gold.
The Ochie also stressed the need for the rehabilitation of all schools in Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas, while the on-going road rehabilitations in the two local government areas be sustained.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Alwell Onyesoh stressed the need for all sons and daughters of the area to work together to advance the cause of development in the area.
