Come Up With New Initiatives, Monarch Tells Ikwerre Professionals
The paramount Ruler of Woji, Eze Leslie N Eke, has called on professionals in Ikwerrre to come up with better initiatives to tackle some of the challenges facing the Ikwerre ethnic nationality.
He made the call when he spoke in an interview with newsmen at the weekend at his Palace in Woji, Obio/Apkor Local Government Area.
The Eze Oha Evo III of Evo Kingdom, said that the call became imperative due to the incessant ranglings for traditional stools and other institutions in the area.
Eke reasoned that since the body would be made up of professionals, that they would discharge their duties unbiased.
According to him, they should in a hurry, come up with critical maps and suggestions that would usher in development in the area, in order to enable it maintain its position in the state.
The Ezegbakagbaka, also pointed out that the youths did not know the history of Ikwerre due to lack of professional bodies whose duties, he said, were to hand over information to new generations.
Another benefit of body when established was the issue of development and harnessing of resources, which he said was a duty of professional groups.
He further pointed out that the embarassment meted to Ikwerre monarchs, coupled with several chieftaincy tussles in the area would stemmed, if the professionals could do the needful.
The Eze Oha Evo, expressed regrets that some people were confused over political and traditional leadership, saying that both are never fused.
