Banigo Bags Award For Charity
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, has reiterated her commitment to help the less privileged in the society.
Dr Banigo reiterated this while speaking at a Charity Ball Gala Night and Induction organised by Unique Divas Foundation, an all-female charity organisation in Port Harcourt.
The Deputy Governor, who spoke through her Senior Special Assistant, Barr Inegogo Fubara, said for the past 12 years she had reached out to the less privileged and victims of sexual and drug abuse, through the Caywood Brown Foundation.
According to her, the victims were rehabilitated, given free skills acquisition training and empowered to become productive members of the society, noting that there is an on-going free monthly computer and musical instruments training as well as drug and sexual abuse seminars.
She commended the Unique Divas Foundation for its benevolence towards the less privileged in the society, noting that “within your short period of existence you have visited, orphanages, reached out to widows in some Local government areas, this is just an indication of what women can do if we pull our resources and selves together”.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Unique Divas Foundation, Mrs Amarachi Grace Obi said the aim of setting up the foundation was to impact the needy around them and also carry out charitable works across the nation.
Presentation of an award of excellence to the Deputy Governor for her contributions to humanity, performance by various guest artists were highlights of the event.
