Belemaoil Donates Medical Equipment To Kula
Medical facilities worth millions of Naira have been donated to Kula Community in Akuku-Toru Government Area by Belemaoil to improve healthcare delivery services in the community.
The Tide learnt that the procurement of the equipment was done in partnership with the Akuku Toru local Government Council and Newcross exploration and exploitation limited.
The manager Government/Community relations Belemaoil, Mr. Darego T. Fubara told newsmen during the handover at Abonnema that the gesture was part of the corporate social responsibility, programme of Belemaoil.
Mr. Fubara said that the company will continue to partner with relevant organizations to respond to the needs of its hosts communities.
He however advised the people to ensure that the items which includes, Chairs, tables beddings, examination kits, laboratory equipment among others are properly utilized to serve the purpose for which they were donated.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Caretaker Committee of Akuku Toru Local Government Council, Hon. Tonye A. Alalibon has said that the gesture will help to check to the highrate of infant and maternal mortality in Kula Kingdom.
“Our pregnant women can now enjoy antenatal services, benefit from routine laboratory tests, combat ailments like malaria and enjoy other medical services like immunization, family planning, child delivery among others without spending huge sums to travel to Abonnema, Degema or Port Harcourt”.
Hon. Alalibo also advised the leadership and people of Kula Kingdom to see the equipment as a Community property meant to serve all citizens and use them judiciously.
He used the occasion to thank the management of Belemaoil for proving itself as a company with a human face by sponsoring this project initiated to provide health care services to the people of Kula Kingdom and neighbouring riverine communities in the LGA.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
