RSUST VC Lauds School For Winning NTA Children Expo
The Vice Chancellor of the
Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Prof Blessing Didia, has lauded the International Secondary School (ISS) for emerging winner in the Senior Category of the just concluded NTA Children’s Art, Science and Technology Expo, 2016, which took place on 14th October, 2016 in Port Harcourt.
Didia who also hailed the staff school for picking the first position in the junior category of the event, said he was satisfied with the students and staff of both schools for their dedication, commitment and for being worthy ambassadors of the University.
The VC said the success of the students was in line with his leadership vision to propel a sound science technology and entrepreneurial institution for socio-economic engineering and development of the state.
He noted that by their top position, the two schools would represent the state at the National Competition scheduled to hold 23rd to 28th October, 2016 in Abuja.
The Vice Chancellor who charged them to endeavour to clinch the converted National Prize for His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike assured that the university management would provide them with all the needed support and assistance to guarantee their excellence at the event, and wished them well.
In a similar vein, the leader of the Rotary International, Mr Brad Howard has commended the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Blesisng Didia, for the leading role, the institution is taking in nation building.
According to a release by a press officer of the institution, Mr Ebere Confidence Howard made the commendation Thursday when he paid a visit to the VC.
It stated that Howard averred that its organisation, in its research, found RSUST as an institution of great repute and a premier university in Nigeria that deserves a great respect for its role in nation building.
It further quoted Howard as saying that rotarians from the United States and other countries came to participate in the West African Trade Fair as to support the local rotarians in Nigeria in their humanitarian services to the people.
In his response, the VC thanked the delegation for their visit and commended them on the body’s leading role in the eradication of polio in Nigeria.

The Commissioner emphasized the strategic role of the media in shaping public perception, promoting government initiatives, and supporting policies capable of improving the quality of education and human capital development in the state.
