NOA Boss Harps On Youth Dev
The Director of National
Orientation Agency (NOA) Rivers State, Mr Oliver Worlugbom has called on the government to create an enabling environment for the youths to strive and succeed in their various endeavours.
The NOA director who was represented by the Agency’s Principal Officer, Dr Prince Wobo said this during a youth summit organised by Youth Focus Centre (YFC) in Port Harcourt recently.
He said that the provision of development programmes like education, employment sports and adequate recreation centre should be made available.
Worlugbom who described the youths as the backbone of the nation said they could change the future of the society with their well being and courageous behaviours.
He urged the youths to refrain from political thuggery, militancy, sucide bombing, terrorism, drug peddling and other social vices in the society.
“They should be able to fight criminality and other forms of social vices and expose such vices where they are found to exist” he said.
According to him, the parents, government and the society in which the youths live also have their various roles to play.
Speaking, the Coordinator of YFC, Mr Ogbonda .S. Ndubuisi described the youths as the best tools for peace, development and security.
“Despite our social, political, religious, and educational background, we need to preach and defend peace, security and development in our country” he said.
He noted that the organisation is centered on youth development and empowerment, through leadership training and orientation on environmental security and peace.
