The commissioner, who said this after meeting with consultants/contractors handling government projects in his office, said a visit to some sites revealed high level of poor quality jobs.
Wachukwu, noted that the state governor, Chief Nyesom Wike was unhappy about the poor quality jobs done by some contractors and will no longer tolerate the trend.
He also added that the state governor will not condole any open-ended projects while urging contractors to maximise the dry season and complete their projects.
He urged them to ensure that they keep to specification and timelines to justify their pay.
According to him, the state government wants to take this state infrastructural to the next level, and added that the government has discovered errors in documentation of contract papers by contractors.
‘You are given a job and you are not bothered when the project will be concluded. The state government will not accept delayed completion of state projects’, he said
According to him, the contractors have failed to update the government on their progress while handling state projects.
The commissioner added that the government demands that the contractors report on the level of project completion in detail, including photographs from inception to when this administration took over.
He said the submission will enable the government to track the progress of projects on-going in the state and urged contractors to embrace the policy of local content so as to help reduce the level of unemployment in the state.
