NAFDAC’s Example Of Modern Laboratories (II)
Expectedly, the
agency’s laboratories have unarguably remained an outrightly viable means of according practical trainings to upcoming scientists in the nation as they are bound to be comfortable with their instructors and supervisors since they are able to practically access/visualize what they were only theoretically taught at their respective citadel of learning.
With ultra-modern and ideally functioning scientific facilities, coupled with adequately seasoned workforce who are very patient as well as commendably research, minded, it has become a unique training ground that the nation’s teaming students of science discipline will continue to remember in their quest to become successful scientists.
However, authorities of the nation’s higher institutions have averred that reports forwarded to the schools upon the completion of Industrial Trainings {ITs}by these science students at the agency laboratories indicated that they indeed were accorded very wide and sound exposures. They are also reported to have exhibited remarkable improvement in their understanding of practical laboratory analysis which invariably is typical of sciences where commitment/interest, suitable research environment as well as modernized facilities are required to bring about impressive results.
There is no doubt that maximum commendation must be accorded current visionary and patriotic management team of NAFDAC for sustaining high operational qualities in its set of laboratories located in eight different locations across the nation which of course portends a very good and great omen for the nation’s determination to boost scientific education, research and analysis.
According to Mr Charles Nwachukwu ,a Deputy Director, NAFDAC who is also the Head of the agency’s South-East zonal laboratories , NAFDAC laboratories nationwide have been consistently kept functional in accordance with the sustainability policy of the incumbent chief executive of the agency which he said has shown remarkable zeal in not only sustaining but improving on the legacies of his predecessors.
He maintained that the agency’s current leadership zeal for sustainability has kept the workforce happy and working adding that the staff were happy to have an agency that is working ,an agency where policies and facilities put in place are made to work even better after administrative leadership baton has been exchanged.
Mr Nwanchukwu who spoke while playing host to a team of seasoned media executives who were on tour of the agency’s facilities nationwide further asserted that “for us in NAFDAC,there is no Nigerian factor,we are business-minded,we have our goals and the agency’s leadership is bent on achieving these goals.Indeed, these laboratories built and located across the country have certainly become a beehive of activities.
While our students have become more confident and proud after their stay with us,we are conscious of the fact that what we give is what they will take to the society after graduation so our standards are not compromised. The impact being created by our laboratories are felt by students in just a little period of stay with us ,we have also received commendable feedbacks from institutions which successfully identified great improvement in their students who have passed through our facilities.
We have very seasoned and research, minded scientists in our fold who are working with us and we have the commitment to keep in touch with newer/modernized developments in science .So I can confidently say that the situation here will always be better.
NAFDAC impute into the nation’s socio-economic and educational advancement cannot be underemphasized since science they say is the bedrock of modern society and thus the onus rest on the nation to compulsorily possess facilities capable of competently training up-coming and existing scientists which would compare with their counterparts internationally.
