NECO Releases Nov/Dec 2014 Results
The National Examination Council (NECO) has released its November/December 2014 results with 52.94 per cent credit pass in English Language and 55.37 per cent credit pass in Mathematics.
The NECO Registrar, Prof. Promise Okpala, who announced the results on Wednesday, said that the results were improvement on the previous exams conducted between 2011 and 2014.
Okpala said that 63,445 candidates registered for the examination but 61,386 candidates sat for it, with 30.57 per cent candidates recording five credits and above.
“In an analysis of other core subjects, indications showed that 53,848 sat for Biology with 26,947 pass at credit level representing 50.04 per cent.
“Chemistry had 28,250 candidates with 14,8585 pass at credit level representing 51.62 per cent, 28,222 sat for Physics with 57 pass cat credit level, representing 0.20 per cent.
“1,753 sat for Further Mathematics while 395 passed at credit level, representing 22.53 per cent, Agricultural Science had 41,080 candidates with 12,006 pass at credit level, representing 29.22 per cent,” he said.
Okpala said that an analysis of the malpractices showed that 620 cases were recorded depicting a decrease in malpractice the examinations.
“It is an eloquent testimony of painstaking efforts the council has consistently made to eradicate examination malpractice in Nigeria,” he said.
He said that the council was able to sustain its timely release of results less than 60 days from the date of the last paper written, adding that there was no leakage of examination.
“Under this administration, we have worked toward ensuring integrity of results to curb malpractice to zero tolerance,” he said.
Okpala however called on individuals who sat for the examination to access their results on NECO website at www.mynecoexam.com using the examination registration number and scratch cards.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
