RSSDA Concludes EIA Study On SCPZ
The Rivers State
Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), has concluded an Environmental Impact Assessment study on the proposed staple crop processing zone (SCPZ) at Okorolo Andoni.
This is contained in the 2013 Annual Report of the Agency made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
The Executive Director of the Agency Mrs Noble Pepple who briefed the press on the development said that the design and masterplan are ready, “environmental impact assessment has been completed and project community integration processes area on-going.”
Mr Pepple also said that the Agency also accord proper recognition to issues pertaining to the environment stressing that this has underscored the importance attach to environmental assessment before the commencement of projects.
Further, issues on Health of Safety and Environment ( HSE) are also given due attention.
“During the year we continued our vigorous drive to deliver on our promises in 2012 to ensure a safe and secure working environment for our staff programme / project implemented and third party employees who do business with us.
This we did by continuously improving on our HSST standards and raising the awareness and compliance levels in the Agency” he said.
