Ebola: PDP Has Taken Politics To New Height Of Infamy -APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has castigated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State for attempting to link the announcement of the discovery of an Ebola death in the state to lack of plans by the Rivers State Government to tackle the diease in the State, saying, such allusion by the PDP is an ample proof that the party has taken politics to new height of infamy.
The APC in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday said, “the attention of the All Progressives Congress [APC], Rivers State Chapter has been drawn to another iniquitous propaganda by the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] in Rivers State, attempting to link the surprising announcement of the discovery of an Ebola death in Rivers State through a Doctor said to have died due to Ebola Viral Disease [EVD] to lack of plans by the Rivers State Government to tackle the disease in the state”.
According to the party, “ordinarily, the reaction of the APC would have been to ignore this satanic press release that defies all known decency and leaves a sour taste in the mouth. However, it is necessary that innocent people and residents of Rivers State must be protected now that the PDP has decided to take their propaganda to the arena of infamy employing the circumstances of a deadly disease that has become of concern to Nigeria and the whole world”.
“The truth remains that prior to the sad discovery of an Ebola death of a medical doctor in Port Harcourt who treated another victim who came into the state from Lagos and the possible infection of those who had contact with the doctor, the Rivers State Commissioner for Health had, as recent as last Wednesday, briefed the public about efforts being put in place to contain the disease should it occur in Rivers State. A special medical centre has already been designated for the purpose while local and expatriate specialists are already on ground to train local healthcare personnel on the treatment and handling of EVD patients including the provision of all necessary Personal Protective Equipment [PPEs] for health personnel,” the party said.
To the sane mind, the APC continued, the attempt to cheapen and indulge a serious matter like Ebola Viral Disease [EVD] in the local political propaganda of the PDP in Rivers State is mindless, satanic, clueless and from the very depth of hell.
The party therefore said it would like to call on the people and residents of the state to ignore the latest wicked attempt by the PDP to transfer the confusion in their collapsing house to cause panic and fear among the people of the state. “We urge you to continue to adhere to directives from the Rivers State Commissioner for Health and other health experts in managing your lifestyle to ensure that the state overcomes this terrible disease”, it pleaded.
