Nsiegbe Plans Adult Education For Constituency
A Federal lawmaker rep
resenting Port Harcourt Constituency II in the National Assembly, Hon. (Mrs) Blessing Nsiegbe says an adult education programme will soon take off in the constituency.
Hon Nsiegbe disclosed this while distributing Indian made wrappers to women in Rumuwuji community in the Port Harcourt Area.
The lawmaker said that, the programme is being initiated by her office in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Education to boost Adult Literacy in the constituency.
She praised the women of Rumuwoji community for their unity and sense of purpose, stressing that these qualities are worthy of emulation by women of other communities both in the constituency and across the State.
Hon Nsiegbe also said that her office is initiating series of programmes to improve the condition of women in the area and urged them to continue to remain united for the progress of their community.
Also speaking, the Wife of the former mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, Mrs Oroma Nmerukini said that the lawmaker has made a difference in the lives of the people of the constituency.
Mrs Nmerukini said that the women of Port Harcourt Federal Constituency II have no option, but to continue to support the lawmaker to enable her succeed.
Also speaking, the chairperson, Rumuwoji women meeting, Mrs Gloria Amadi described the gesture as the first of its kind in the area, noting that for the first time, women are being given a sense of belonging in the area.
She said that the Rumuwoji women meeting owe the lawmaker prayers.
