Controller Apapa Premier Port, Comptroller Charles Eporwei Edike has announced that the year 2014, the Command recorded an impressive performance despite it challenges.
The command’s Area Controller, Compt. Charles Edike whogave the disclosure during a roundtable meeting with journalists under the aegis of Maritime Correspondent Organization of Nigeria (MARCON) in Lagos at the weekend, said the performance was a little above that of the first quarter of 2013, adding, “but we are not yet satisfy”.
The controller further explained that the command realizes the whooping sum of N22,132,876,041.87 in the first quarter of this year 2014, adding that the teething problems associated with Pre Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) is gradually coming to an end, even as it disclosed that the command released a total of 28,861,000 PAAR in the month of April 2014.
“Undoubtedly, there have been impacts; though we have not got to where we want, compared to our position in our first quarter this time last year, we see a marginal improvement”, the revenue collection on a daily basis has been impressive attributing the improvement to technological advancement, dedication, commitment and strength of the officers and men of the command.
The Apapa command boss reiterated that on daily basis, the command has been generating above a billion naira which he described as a huge addition to the impressive revenue collection of the service.
