Woman In Court For Reckless Driving
A 35 year-old woman
was arraigned recently at the Asaba Magistrates’ District Court for reckless driving.
Eboma Augustina was charged for reckless driving at the Asaba/Benin expressway, hitting the boot of a stationary car with registration No. ASB493 AE and zoomed off, but was caught by the police.
Augustina, the driver of a Toyota Corolla car, inflicted injury on the driver of the aforementioned car.
The prosecution, Mr Bassey Biokoro said that the accused committed the offence on April 14.
The offence was punishable under section 102(1) of the Road Traffic law Cap 184, Vol. Vii., Laws of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N500, 000 and a surety in like sum, who must be a civil servant on salary grade level 09.
In granting bail, the Magistrate Queen Momoh ordered that the surety must be resident in Asaba
The case had been adjourned till May 14 for hearing.
