Volunteers Urge Ministry, OPS Partnership On Sanitation
The Executive Director of
Sanitation Marshalls Volunteers Prince Sodin Akiaba has urged for partnership between the Rivers State Ministry of Environment and the organized private sector (OPS) to improve environmental awareness in the state.
Speaking in an interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt, Prince Akiaba said that improving the environment cannot be left to the government alone as the support of the private sector is needed.
According to him the organized private sector can help the government through the provision of logistics as well as encourage the house to house sanitation exercise Prince Akiaba also urged for the supports of residents of Port Harcourt and environs to all programmes being made by the government to improve sanitation in the city.
“For a healthy environment to be achieved, Government needs the support of the masses.
“The organized private sector should also support the Ministry of Environment with logistics for the house to house sanitation exercise, he said
He said that marshall olunteers will continue to support the government in ensuring clean environment in Port Harcourt city and its environs.
Prince Akiaba also commended the Ministry of Environment for ensuring monthly environmental sanitation exercise and urged for it to be sustained.
