Forum Lauds Commissioner Over Free WAEC Fees

rum (KPF), a socio-political organisation in Kalama in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State, has commended the Rivers State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Chamberline Peterside for the payment of West African School Certificate (WASC) fees for hundreds of students of the area.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the President of the Forum, Mr. Ferdinand Minima, said that the gesture would help to boost the educational development of Kalama and the entire Opobo/Nkoro local government area.
According to the President, Dr. Peterside has tremendously put smiles on the faces of the people.
“Through his empowerment programmes, payment of WASC fee for students, rejuvenating cooperative organization for market women by giving revolving loan, employment for our youths and committed efforts towards the completion of the unity road that leads to Opobo,” he said.
The KPF President also expressed optimism that the various programmes being embarked upon by the commissioner through the Samuel S. Peterside Foundation, would continue to spur the people to support the vision of the state government all times.
“We appeal to him to do more for the people while we assure our total support and encouragement,” he said.
