Rivers FRSC Flags Off Ember Months Safety Campaign
The Rivers State Sector
command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has flagged-off its Ember-months campaign aimed at arresting and correcting the wrong attitude of motorists.
The operation, which is one in the series of programmes within the period has as its theme, “Attitude: The change we need on our roads”.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Education Officer, of the Command, John Micheal Sunday onbehalf of the sector commander, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro and made available to The Tide correspondent in Port Harcourt court recently.
The statement said the corps is also embarking on a special patrol during the Eid-el-labir celebration, as a proactive measure to check drivers excesses on the road.
It said the exercise is to prevent road traffic crashes and resultant loss of lives and property during the period and enjoined the good people of Rivers State and the road users in general to have a happy Eid-el-kabir celebration.
Meanwhile, the Sector commander in Rivers State, Sunday Oghenekaro has implored road users during the period of the celebration to be safety conscious and avoid excessive speed and other negative attitudes on the road during and after the Muslim festival.
