LG Boss Woos Investors In Tourism Dev … Reads Riot Act To Cultists
The Andoni Local Government Council is wooing both local and foreign investors in the development of the rich forestry and tourist potentials of the area.
The council chairman, Hon. Orom Nte Ereforokuma, said this in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt shortly after returning from the United States of America (USA) where he attended an Andoni Forum and Convention.
Hon. Ereforokuma said that the Andoni mainland has abundant forestry resources including wildlives that should naturally attract investors, noting that his discussions with some potential investors in this regard was fruitful.
The council boss also said that Andoni has the best tourism potentials in the state, noting that the several beaches across the area is a source of investment.
According to him, at the convention, Andonis in diaspora were urged to come back home and invest. “They should come and invest in knowledge and the economy.
“They should come and develop the beaches, their contributions will make Andoni a better place” he said.
Meanwhile, the Andoni local government council has threatened to bring the full weight of the law against suspected cultists in the area.
Reacting to the recent inter cult clash which left several people dead in Asarama Community, the council chairman, Sir Orom Nte Ereforokuma said that the council will no longer fold its hands and watch miscreants overrun the area.
He said that the Joint Security Taskforce (JTF) at Ngo had been directed to ensure full security surveillance of the entire Andoni and Asarama in particular.
The council chairman also said that nobody will be treated as a secred cow in the on-going crisis in Asarama and urged for the support of the people.
On the crisis in the state, the council boss said that the people of Andoni will not identify with any form of illegality, hence their support for Governor Amaechi remains unshaken.
He commended the Governor for his concern towards the timely completion of the unity road and other projects in Andoni.
The council boss said that the council on its part is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that its multi billion naira connection of Ngo to the National Grid is completed by August this year.
