Students Hail Assembly Leader’s Strides On Education
The leader of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Legislative Assembly, Hon David Ikechikwu Amadi, has been commended for contributing towards the educational development of Oro Abali community.
This was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
The release jointly signed by the President of the Students Association, Comrade Stephen Eyind Oporo and the Secretary, Faith Wobo, said that the union is happy with the numerous support Hon. Amadi has given to students in the area.
According to the union, Hon Amadi is one of those who have made the Abali Students Association proud.
“His contributions so far have made the Abali students Association to see the light of the day,” teh union said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PHALGA Unit of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Hon. Prince William Chinwo has commended the state government for giving due attention to the educational development of the state.
Speaking in an interview shortly after being conferred with the award by the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Prince Chinwo said that the union will continue to support the government in the current effort to improve education in the state.
He also commended the institute for the award, describing it as a recognition of what NASU is doing in the city.

Education Commissioner Seeks media collaboration in Rivers
The River State Commissioner for Education, Dr Peters Nwagor has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to deploy their various communication platforms toward promoting government programmes and policies aimed at achieving sustainable development in the education sector. Dr. Nwagor made the appeal when members of the Etche Ethnic Practicing Journalists (EEPJ) paid him a courtesy visit in Office in Port Harcourt. The Commissioner emphasized the strategic role of the media in shaping public perception, promoting government initiatives, and supporting policies capable of improving the quality of education and human capital development in the state.
