NSBF Confident Of Winning Friendly Against Ghana
The Nigeria Baseball and Softball Federation (NBSF), has assured of an overwhelming victory over its Ghanaian counterparts at the two-day international friendly scheduled for today and tomorrow in Accra, Ghana.
The baseball national team had resumed camping on April 19 in Port Harcourt, ahead of the friendly.
NBSF Secretary, Kehinde Laniyan said that the friendly was to further prepare the team ahead of major international competitions scheduled for later in the year.
“The players were in camp, ahead of the friendly and I strongly believe we will defeat Ghana.
“Coach Gerard Hall from the United States worked with technical crew to improve the players’ competencies before the match,” he said.
Laniyan added that the NBSF had provided all required logistics for the team to excel in the encounter.
He commended the Rivers State Government for their support to the team and urged private bodies and organisations to give it more support to enable the team to thrive.
The team departed for Accra yesterday.
Baseball and Softball were jointly pioneered by retired Maj-Gen Ishola Williams, Prof Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke and Dr William Boyd, on the nation’s sports scene.
