Monarch Wants Subjects To Invest In Education
The Eze Ekpeye Logbo, Robinson O. Robinson, has urged the Ekpeyes both at home and in Diaspora to invest massively in the education of their children to create a prosperous future for them.
Eze Robinson, who said this at the weekend during the burial of late Elder Steward Nwigar Ogiri, at Oshika village in the Ahoada-West Local Government Area said that the late Elder Ogiri has left an indelible mark in the educational development of the area, noting that future generations of Ekpeyes will remember him for the massive investment he committed towards the training of his children.
Also speaking, the former speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Stephen Ezekwem said that late Ogiri achievement in education is a challenge to both Ekpeyes and non-Ekpeyes to spare no effort in the training of their children.
Hon Ezekwem, who is the commissioner in charge of the state at the Public Complaint Commission, also described the deceased as an epitome of peace in Ekpeye land.
In his sermon at the funeral ceremony which held at the premises of the Community Primary School, Oshika village, the General Overseer of Christ Deliverance Church, Senior Apostle M.O Ewoh urged the community to emulate the deceased who lived and died in Christ.
“Even in old age, he was able to recognise Jesus Christ.” The clergyman who spoke on the theme: “The Reward Of The Overcomers,” said that the overcomers will always live with Jesus Christ who is the answer to all.
He urged the teeming crowd to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour as the coming of the Lord is at hand. Senoir Apostle Ewoh also urged the deceased family to sustain the legacy which their father has entrenched, especially the values of education and the love of Christ.
The chief mourner, who is also the Director Finance and Accounts (DFA), Rivers State Ministry of Budget / Economic Planning, Pastor Rogers Ogiri said that the family will continue to cherish those values for which their father lived for.
The ceremony was attended by some distinguished personalities among who are a member of House of Representatives, representing Ahoada-West/Ogba Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas, Honourable Asita, Dr. Obuzo, Chief Andy Nweye former State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA), Chief Stephen Ezekwem, amongst others.
