Mrs Amaechi Predicts Brighter Future For Children
Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi has
assured Nigerians of a better future despite the nation’s teething challenges.
Dame Amaechi, who stated this on Monday at a Children’s
Party organised to commemorate Nigeria’s 52nd Independence anniversary said
that Nigeria is a country with several potentials and look promising for the
younger generation.
“I want to tell you are assure you that the country is great
and has a great future ahead of you all”, she said.
The governor’s wife stated that the government under her
husband’s leadership will continue to provide basic amenities for the children
and prepare them for the challenges of time.
The government holds you in high esteem and will always
provide for your future, she declared and advised the children to shun acts
capable of jeopardising their future and show love among themselves.
Mrs Amaechi further encouraged the future generation to be
studious with their academics and fear God in all their endeavours.
In attendance at the party include Mrs Blessing Nsiegbe,
member of the House of Representatives, Mrs Joeba West, Commissioner for Women
Affairs, Lady Ogechi Okocha, wife of the Chief of Staff, Mrs Odochi Parker,
wife of Commissioner for Health and Mrs Carol Wonodi, wife of Commissioner for
Culture and Tourism among others.
Highpoint of the celebration was the cutting of the
anniversary cake while gifts were presented to the children who also danced
with the governor’s wife.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
