NIPR Poised To Check Quacks – Semenitari
The new board of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is poised to check the influx of quacks into the profession.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information/Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari who said this while reacting to her appointment into the NIPR board by the Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Labaran Maku in a press briefing in Port Harcourt said that the board would put in place programmes for the training and retraining of information managers. She said that the overall objective was to change the perception index of Nigeria abroad.
According to her, the NIPR was poised to play a crucial role in the management of the nation’s image and reputation with a view to changing some of the negative perceptions people hold about Nigeria.
The commissioner also attributed her appointment to the quality of governance bestowed by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, noting that this situation was now attracting public goodwill towards his appointees.
She also described the Governor as a clear example to others in terms of efficiency in hardwork amongst others.
