The Vice chairman of the Local Organising Committee, for the 17th National Sports Festival, Garden City Games, Hon Boma Iyaye has said that commercial taxi drivers and motorists in the state would play a vital part in making the festival successful.
Speaking to taxi drivers at the Civic Centre in Port Harcourt, Hon Iyaye said taxi drivers would be accredited as official partners, during the festival and would be allowed to follow the route mapped out for the game without security hitches.
According to him, the Federal Road Safety and Security officials were already working with the LOC to eradicate any security hitch.
He urged the taxi drivers to maintain the hospitable nature of the Rivers people, adding that more sensitization sessions would be held with the sub-committee to ensure that visitors were well received.
