LG Pledges Support To Teacher Institute
The Andoni Local Government Council says it would provide facilities for the sustenance of the Ngo centre of the National Teachers Institute (NTI) Kaduna.
The Council Chairperson, Hon. Emilia Gilbert Nte who said this during an interactive session with Traditional rulers of Ngo headquarters of the Council, also pledged the Council’s support to the Obolo language and bible translation Committee for the translation of the Holy Bible in Obolo language.
The Council Chairperson particularly expressed gratitude to God for the tremendous success, the Obolo nation has recorded since independence in 1960, stressing that the area which had no graduate, before 1960 can now boast of many University graduates.
“In the past hardly can you count the number of graduates, talkless of Professors of Andoni (Obolo) origin,
“But today we are turning out graduates in their hundreds.”
Hon. Nte used the occasion to announce the construction of the Obolo Multipurpose hall and thanked the State Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for the level of infrastructural development in the state.
In his speech, the Chairman Community Development Committee (CDC) Ajakajak Mr. Jackson Sarigama described the Administration of Hon. Nte as the best so far in the local Governor Area.
He said that the Council Chairperson has touched virtually all areas of human endeavour and assured of the support all CDCs in Andoni.
The occasion which coincided with the Nigerian 50th Independence celebration was attended by prominent traditional rulers in the area including the Okan-Ama of Ngo HRH Uboon (Dr.) V.D. Ngere, King Israel Otuo of Unyeada amongst others.
