Edo AC Harvests Two PDP Legislatorsa
Member of Action Congress in Edo State have continued to savor the harvest of two members of the People Democratic Party who recently decamped to the ruling party in the state.
The members are Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon , representing Oredo Federal Constituency and Mr. Samson Osagie , representing Uhumwonde, Orhionmwon Constituency in Edo State.
The decampment has rejuvenated a wide spectrum of interest amongst members and party leadership who feel that Obahiagbon’s membership of A.C has greatly improved the quality of political egg-heads in the constituency, specially his established interest to re-contest for the House of representative on the ticket of A.C.
Members who volunteered comment on Obahiagbon submitted that “the party (A.C) is happy to have a distinguished politician in the mode of Patrick Obahiagbon flag the ticket of the party in the next round of election in the State.
At the well attended party ceremony in Urhokpota hall, king square, Benin city, the comrade governor Adams Oshiomhole stated that before now, the Action Congress in the state has no official voice in Abuja but with the declaration of two National Assembly member for the Action Congress, automatically the party now has avoice.
The governor assured the new A.C member that they will be entitled to all privileges just as they fulfill their obligation to the state.
The chairman of Action Congress in the sate, Prince Tony Omoaghe received Chief Igbebor, former PDP chairman in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Mr. Abela Asowie and Patrick Asowieren also from Orhionmwon, Apostle Edoba Aikpitanyi, a formal member of Edo State House of Assembly from Ovia North East, Dr. Larry Ederaro and Mr. Samson Osagie, a member of the House of Representative from Urhunmwode Nosa Aladeselu.
“I have no regret quitting PDP for the AC because of the intractable crisis rocking the party, and the developmental stride of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in transforming the state” on his part, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon said while thanking the PDP for giving him the platform to actualised his potential, adding that he was adjusting politically to the Action Congress.
Obahiagbon who is famed for is jaw breaking English-Latin word has become a national celebrity in Nigeria due to his knack for high caliber discuss at the National Assembly. Speaker after speaker’s extolled the developmental stride of the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole administration and they all pledge to work with him in the task to develop Edo State .
Speaking with The Tide after the exciting ceremony, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon described those accusing him of moving to the Action Congress (AC) because of his need for second tenure as rumor-mongers.
According to Mr. Obahiagbon , he decided to adjust his political lining by leaving the People Democratic Party (PDP) to the Action Congress since his people have adjusted due to the developmental stride of Comrade governor in Edo State.

Tinubu Increases Ambassador-nominees to 65, Seeks Senate’s Confirmation
President Bola Tinubu has increased the number of Ambassador-nominees to 65 and forwarded their names to the Senate for confirmation.
The president’s request, read in plenary Thursday by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, consists of 34 career ambassadors and High Commissioners as well as 31 non-career ambassadors and high commissioners.
The Presidency had last week released the names of 32 ambassador-nominees, featuring names of some prominent Nigerians.
Notable nominees among the non-career ambassador-nominees are: Sen. Ita Enang from Akwa-Ibom, Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim (Ondo) and Sen. Folasade Bent (Adamawa) and Segun Ige (Edo)
Three ambassador-nominees, namely: Kayode Are (Ogun), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa) and Ayodele Oke (Oyo), earlier forwarded to the senate, had been screened by the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The new nominees had consequently been forwarded to the committee for screening within one week.
The full list of the ambassadorial nominees per state reads: “Ezenwa Chukwuemeka (Abia), Maimuna Ibrahim (Adamawa), Monica Ogochukwu (Anambra), Mohammed Lele (Bauchi),
Endoni Sindo (Bayelsa) and Ahmed Mohammed Monguno (Borno).
Others are Jane Adams Michael (Cross River), Clark Alexandra (Delta), Chimma Davies (Ebonyi),
Oduma Ehinose (Edo ), Segun Ige (Edo), Adeyemi Emmanuel (Ekiti), Onaga Kingsley (Enugu) and Magaji Umar (Jigawa).
Other nominees in the category of Career Ambassadors are Mohammed Dahiru (Kaduna), AbdulSalam Zayat (Kano), Shehu Barde ( Katsina ), Aminu Nasiu ( Katsina ), Abubakar Musa-Musa ( Kebbi) ,Mohammed Idris ( Kebbi) ,
Bako Adamu Umar (Kogi).
” The rest are: Sulu Gambari (Kwara), Ramata Mohammed (Lagos), Shaga John Shama (Nasarawa), Salau Mohammed (Niger) and Ibrahim Danlami (Niger).
Others are: Adeola Mopelola (Ogun),
Ruben Samuel (Ondo), Akand Adekola (Osun), Adedokun Esther (Oyo), Gedagi Joseph (Plateau), Luther Ayokalata (Rivers), Danladi Yaku (Taraba) and Bello Dogondaji (Zamfara).
Names on the list of the 31 non-career ambassadorial nominees are Sen. Grace Bent (Adamawa), Sen. Eta Enang (Akwa – Ibom), Nkechi Okocha (Anambra ),
Mahmood Yakubu (Bauchi), Philip Ikurusi (Bayelsa).
They include Paul Oga Adikwu (Benue), retired Vice Adm. Ibok Ibas ( Cross River), Abasi Braimah (Edo) and Erelu Adebayo (Ekiti).
Others are: Olumilua Ayotunwa (Ekiti),
Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu State), Mrs. Chioma Ohakim (Imo ), retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (Kano State).
