Ex-Coach To Share In Nigeria W/Cup Bonus
Former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu will share in the World Cup bonus due to Nigeria from FIFA for qualifying for the World Cup.
Amodu was removed from his position and replaced with Swede Lars Lagerback after the African Nations Cup, but the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation have not only agreed to take the coach to South Africa as a World Cup Ambassador, but also included his name to share in 25 per cent of the World Cup bonus due to players and officials.
“The Executive Committee approved a recommendation for former Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Mr. Shuaibu Amodu to travel as one of four Nigerian Football Ambassadors to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa, in recognition of his efforts in qualifying the team for the competition,” a statement from NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire read.
“Amodu is to earn estacode like other delegates but not match bonuses or any other payment due to players and members of technical crew.
“However, he is to partake of the share of 25 per cent of the World Cup bonus coming from FIFA for participation, alongside players and members of technical crew.”
