Army Warns Against Disobedience To Civil Authority
The Nigerian Army has urged its officers and men to remain committed and loyal to constituted civil authority.
The General Officer Commanding, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Muhammad D. Isah gave this charge at the weekend in Port Harcourt during the 2009 end of year West African Social Activities (WASA) of 2 Brigade Port Harcourt.
Maj-Gen Isah also expressed satisfaction with the level of discipline and professionalism attained by the 2 Brigade, describing it as a clear demonstration of dedication, commitment and self sacrifice of the leadership at all levels of command at the Brigade.
The GOC further said that training and professionalism would continue to receive the highest priority in the division.
“I have issued my training directives for the year 2010 and like you did in the proceeding year, you must strive to its full implementation.
I therefore want to use this avenue to urge officers and soldiers of the brigade to continue with individual and collective training in order to cope with the challenges of our time”, he said.
He also urged for collective effort by all to ensure the success of the Brigade, the Division and the entire Nigerian Army.
Dignitaries who graced the event include the state governor, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon Magnus Abe, service chiefs and others.
