Yobe Implements Summit Report
Yobe State Government says it has put in place necessary machinery for the implementation of the report of an economic summit organised recently by the state in conjunction with the Organised Private Sector (CPS).
Preparation being made for the implementation is sequel to the submission of a draft copy of the report by a committee charged with the organisation of the event.
Lawan Shettima Ali, special adviser to the state governor, on political and legislative matters, made this disclosure on Wednesday when addressing newsmen at Government House, Kano.
Ali noted that the state government is committed to the suecessful implementation of the report because it contains some fundamental recommendations which if implemented are capable of transforming the state economically.
According to him, the governor will in the next few weeks present a draft copy of the report to the state executive council, following which a white paper for its implementation will be issued.
It would be recalled that the economic summit, the first to be organised was inaugurated by the late governor of the state, Mamman Ali.
Manwhile, Lawan said that the state government has purchased 7000 tractors for onward distribution to all the local government areas in the state, as part of efforts to boost agricultural practices.
In the same vein, he also disclosed that about 20,000 tons of various brands of fertilizer have been provided for farmers in the state in this planting season.
