RSG Takes Over Federal Road In Etche
The Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has announced plans by the state government to fix the Umuechem/Chokocho road in Etche Local Government Area of the State.
Amaechi made the plans public on Sunday at the 2014 Adult Harvest Thanksgiving Service of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Province of Niger Delta in Okomoko, Etche.
He said though the road is a federal road, the state government will not allow its citizens to suffer due to the deplorable condition hence plans to fix it.
“We will fix Umuechem/Chokocho road. The road is a Federal road including the Igbo Road. I will try and fix the bad spots before elections,” Amaechi said.
He told the people that his administration has provided infrastructure including roads, model schools and health facilities as well as the ongoing construction of a General Hospital at Okehi.
Governor Amaechi also enjoined the people to support him in the 2015 general elections by voting the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said, “We have done more roads in Etche. The roads that are bad are Federal roads. We have built health centres in Etche, we have also built model schools in Etche. We have agreed to build three more hospitals according to senatorial districts but because of distance I have asked them to build one at Okehi. You owe me your vote because I have fought for you, worked for you.
If you don’t come out to support me then you have not shown gratitude for what I have done for you. So I believe you owe me the responsibility of voting APC. Etche people cannot talk of marginalization again. Please look at the rapid pace and rate of development in your communities and support us. The only way you can support me is to vote for APC,” Amaechi said.
