Chiefs Raise Alarm Over Threat To Peace
The people of Rundele Kingdom in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have alerted the state government and the security agencies over the alleged nefarious activities of one Great Ogbuagwu Owhor in the community.
The community, which said this at a press briefing in Port Harcourt also condemned the incessant harassment of Rundele traditional rulers by the Nigeria police.
The text for the briefing which was read by HRH Eze Sir Gideon A.O. Omodu, described Great Ogbuagwu Owhor as a security risk to Rundele Kingdom, Rivers State and the entire Nigeria.
According to the community, “the briefing was to alert the Rivers State Government and the world at large of the nefarious activities of one Great Ogbuagwu Owhor. He is a security risk to Rundele, Rivers State and Nigeria,” they said.
“To request the Nigeria police to arrest and charge him for false information”.
The community also noted that since Great Ogbuagwu Owhor had no fixed address in Nigeria and abroad, it behoves the Nigerian police through Interpol to cause his arrest and repatriation to Nigeria to face the criminal charges against him.
They also urged the Inspector General of Police to stop the arrest and harassment of Rundele traditional rulers and its eminent sons, who had restored peace and security in Rundele and the Ndele axis of the East-West Road.
“The Nigeria police should accord the Rundele traditional rulers the respect given to other traditional rulers in Nigeria.”
Also speaking, former secretary and head of service to the state government in the old Rivers State, Chief Sampson Agbaru, decried the continuous harassment of traditional rulers in the community by the police.
All efforts to reach Great Ogbuagwu Owhor proved abortive as all his phone lines were switched off.
