May & Baker Gets New MD … As Odumodu Moves To SON
A new managing director has been named for May & Baker Nigeria Plc. He is Mr. Nnamdi Nathan Okafor whose appointment took effect from February 1, 2011. He replaces Dr. Joseph Ikem Odumodu, who was recently appointed director – general of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
Until this appointment, Mr. Okafor was the executive director/chief operating officer of May & Baker’s Foods Division.
Okafor, who has been with May & Baker since 1985, has held several other positions in the company including, executive director, Sales and Marketing with responsibility for locally manufactured pharmaceutical products. He has also served on several senior positions such as District Sales manager, Training manager, Regional Sales manager, National Sales manager, head, Sales & Marketing and head, Sales & Distribution.
Okafor holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife) as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from ESUT Business School, Lagos.
He is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.
Other appointments announced with that of Okafor are Mr. Ezekiel Odunlami Ibidapo, who is now general manager, Pharma Plant Operations. Until his elevation Ibidapo was head, Pharma Plant Operations. He joined May & Baker Nig. Plc in 2006 as Liquid Process manager after years of cognate experience in other leading pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria.
He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Analysis from the same institution. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
Mr. Fred Nduka formerly head, Human Capital Development was also announced as the new head, Corporate Planning and Development.
He replaces Mrs. Concilia Chikeluba, who is now head, Business Operations, Osworth Nigeria Limited a subsidiary of May & Baker. Mrs. Gladys Ngozi Umoh, Employee Services manager replaces Mr. Nduka as head, Human Capital Development, while Mrs. Helen Ngozi Chukelu, Sales Force Training manager was appointed head, Business Operations, Tydipak Nigeria Limited, another subsidiary of May & Baker.
All appointments take effect from February 1, 2011 apart from that of Mrs. Chukelu, which takes effect March 1, 2011.
