Rivers Negotiating Council Elects New Leadership
The National Joint Public Service Negotiating Council has charged the newly elected executive members of the Rivers State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (Trade Union Side) to adopt the option of dialogue in keeping pace with peace and harmonious work environment.
The charge was given by the National Secretary, Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC), Comrade Marcus Omabihaurale, shortly after conducting an election on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Association of Senor Civil Service of Nigeria (ASCSN), Port Harcourt.
He called on the Rivers State Government, relevant agencies and the workers to give the new leadership the desired support and cooperation to ensure that the existing industrial harmony is maintained.
Those elected include Comrade Emecheta Brave Chuku of AAEUN –Chairman, Comrade O.T. Lilly-West of NCSU – Vice Chairman, Comrade F. Mbaerilam of AUPCTRE – Treasurer, Comrade Princewill O. of ASCSN – Secretary and Comrade Godwin Williamson of NUPPPROW – Assistant Secretary.
In his post-election speech, the newly elected chairman of Joint Public Service Negotiating Council Rivers State, Comrade Emecheta B. Chuku re-affirmed his preparedness to uphold the constitution of the council especially as it affects workers welfare.
He declared his election as no victor no vanquished, saying everybody will be carried along, as he solicits for the support and cooperation of the entire workforce.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions Bureau, Mr. Gift Chima Ake, witnessed the election.
