Monarch Warns Youth Against Political Crisis In Fouchee
The Amayanabo of Fouchee Community, in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, King A. C. Blakk-Iwerima, has warned youth in his community not to hide under the political crisis in Rivers State to cause trouble in Fouchee Community.
The king who invited youth leaders for a peace talk, said that there should not be any room for violence in the noble practice of politics, even when some otherwise respectable politicians may have failed to know when to bow out.
According to him, the leadership of the Community is obligated to work with the properly constituted authority, which is the Rivers State Government under Sir Siminialayi Fubara, and that the youths have no reason being divided on the subject.
“In addition to having the legal right to govern Rivers State, Gov. Siminialayi has shown working and made plain the difference between light and darkness in the governance of the State”, he said.
He advised them not to take the political crisis personal or hate on themselves, because having been subjected to political oppression over the years, even if they fought nobody would care, except the new Governor changed the narrative.
The Monarch mentioned some of the great things the governor was already doing, especially with the Civil Service; accountability in governance and road projects that would soon enable Foucheelites to also drive home on the proposed Trans-Kalabari Road.
Responding, the Youth President, Mr. Levi Ibiama, said that they would resist every attempt to get physical over political matters, adding that they would not allow anyone to infiltrate the youth and make them embark on any lawless political misadventure would serve some personal interest rather than the collective wellbeing of the state.
