UNILORIN Registrar Urges Alumni To Prioritise Members’ Welfare
The Registrar, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Mr Mansur Alfanla, has urged alumni associations to prioritise members’ welfare across Nigeria for their growth.
Alfanla gave the charge during his interaction with members of the Bayero University, Kano, (BUK) Alumni Association, Ilorin Emirate Chapter, on Saturday in Ilorin.
The registrar recognised alumni associations’ roles in the growth and development of higher institutions, emphasising that a well-structured welfare programme was vital for fostering a strong and supportive alumni community.
He expressed his appreciation for efforts of the association in assisting the families of deceased members.
He urged the association’s executives to persistently foster a strong support system to promote the development and achievements of its members.
The registrar, who shared his experiences and insights from his service at BUK, noted that education played a vital role in shaping individuals and communities.
“I urge you to create a conducive environment that encourages meaningful interaction and supports the personal and professional growth of the alumni,” he said.
Alfanla commended the association’s members for their support and promised to work hard to justify their confidence in him and to continue upholding the high standards of BUK and UNILORIN.
Earlier, the President of BUK Alumni Association, Ilorin Emirate Chapter, Alhaji Ayoku Abdul Ganiyu, congratulated Alfanla on his appointment as the UNILORIN Registrar.
AbdulGaniyu, who was represented by the Vice President, Mr Ahmed Babatunde, also expressed confidence in his ability to lead the UNILORIN to greater heights.
The Secretary-General of the association, Mr Abdulkadir Busari, also charged the registrar to continue to be a distinguished ambassador of BUK.
Busari assured the registrar of the alumni’s commitment to supporting UNILORIN and its development.
Alfanla was later decorated with a customised muffler of the association by the representative of the branch president.
