Imbibe Virtues Of Christ, Fubara Charges Christians At Christmas …Expresses Hope For 2023
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has charged Christians to emulate and imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ as they celebrate this year’s Christmas.
Fubara, while felicitating with Christians on the 2022 Christmas, urged them to continue to reflect on the teachings of Christ as it relates to living in love, compassion, peace, and harmony with one another.
A statement signed by his Deputy Media Assistant, Bon Onyedi, quoted Fubara as saying that, “We must continue as Christians to imbibe the character of Jesus Christ in His practice and teachings on humility, love, service, compassion, patience, loyalty, peace and righteousness, that his birth signifies.
“That will be the appropriate way to celebrate and portray his birth,” the candidate noted.
He further wished them a memorable celebration and a prosperous New Year in advance.
He, however, cautioned that, as they celebrate, they should be wary of politicians with clandestine, divisive, and destructive motives as the state cannot afford to regress from its progressive accomplishments.
The governorship candidate, therefore, charged Rivers people to be vigilant during the Yuletide and not to become pawns in the hands of political detractors.
He advised them to remain steadfast in protecting the pervading peace and harmony in the state.
He expressed deep hope that 2023 would usher in greater things for the state, and urged the people, especially Christians, to have faith as the nation proceeds toward the electioneering season.
