Church Ordains Elders, Deacons, Officers For 2023

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Rumuolumeni District in Port Harcourt, has ordained elders, deacons and other church officers for the effective coordination and administration of the church activities for 2023.
Among those ordained as elder of the church are, Chimezie Ogbu,a two-time former supervising councillor of education and health in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He was a deacon before his elevation as an elder, following his nomination by the 2022 church nominating committee, which found him worthy to be elected as an elder based on his track records.
Performing the ordination and consecration service of church officers at the District Headquarters in Rumuolumeni, the District Pastor Adum Udum Owhoh, urged them to see their various elections as call for service and to advance to course of God’s work.
Owoh particularly advised the elders and deacons ordained to be prayerful, vigilant,and responsible,adding that humility should be the hallmark of their Christian watchword.
“You must exhibit the spirit of humanity as an example of the flock of Christ,be humble and show example to the people you are leading. Simplicity and vigilant are required from you all”.
The man of God, who took his word of admonitionfrom the book of 1 Peter 5:1-9, averred that they must be hospitable and ready to render assistance to those who come to them.
Speaking to journalists after, Elder Chimezie Ogbu, expressed happiness to God for the elevation, and promised to live up to expectation.
Ogbu promised to contribute to the advancement of the work of God and humanity, and called for total support from the church membership.
