Rivers Flood Task Force Sympathises With Three Communities In Emohua

Rivers State Flood Management Task Force has sympathised with the people of Emohua over the devastating flooding that had submerged more than three communities in the area.
Chairman of the taskforce, Dr. George Nwaeke, expressed the committee’s sadness over the situation during a visit to the area, yesterday.
Some communities in Emohua Local Government Area that share boundaries with Ahoada-East had been submerged by flood.
According to reports, over 20 houses in three communities out of six in Rumuekpewere affected, while the occupants now displaced have relocated to Community Primary School, Rumuekpe as their IDP camp.
Speaking to journalists at the affected communities, the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Dr Chidi Lloyd, who led the team of the state flood management task force to the affected areas, commended Governor Nyesom Wike, for the prompt intervention.
Lloyd said other victims who were yet to be evacuated would be moved out for safety.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Rivers State Flood Management Task Force, Dr George Nwaeke, who also led members of his team, said the affected people in Emohua would get relief materials.
Nwaeke, however,gave kudos to the chairman for his proactive measures by going to see the level of the flood before raising alarm.
Some of the flood affected people in Rumuekpe, who spoke,commended the efforts of the state government in coming to their aid.
