APC Ogu/Bolo Loses More Members To PDP
The wave of defection of members of in All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has gained momentum as more people, last Wednesday, dumped the party to pledge their loyalty for PDP.
Speaking to the defectors, Chairman, Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Barrister Vincent Nemieboka, welcomed them to the party, and he assured them that they would be fully integrated into the party.
He said everyone that defected from APC and other political parties into the PDP would soon be introduced to other PDP members and they would be handed over to the ward leaders.
The chairman said those that would want to benefit from the ongoing skills acquisition programme should indicate so they could be included as the programme was still in progress.
Speaking earlier while introducing the defectors to the chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, at his office in Ogu, Hon Tamunosiki Tiene, who was the immediate past chairman of APC in Ogu/Bolo, but defected to the PDP, said the defectors were from Ward 11, Wakama Community.
He said the defectors came to him indicating their interest to join the PDP because they were fed up with anomalies in the APC.
Tiene said they were tired of holding the broom, and would want to take shelter under the umbrella because they have already lost interest in the APC.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr Fyneface Wakama, said they were pleased with what was happening in PDP at the moment, saying that that was why they were crossing over to the PDP.
He said they were representing a host of others who were ready to start working for the PDP in order to achieve success in the future.
On his own part, the Chairman of PDP in Ogu/Bolo, Mr Marcus Thompson, welcomed the defectors into the party, assuring them that they would be treated like any other member of the party.
Thompson assured those still standing on the fence no to be afraid of joining the PDP because the door was always open since the umbrella was big enough to contain all new entrants.

RSG INAUGURATES ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMITTEE
The Rivers State Government has inaugurated a Central Planning Committee to organize the celebration of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) in the State.
The committee was formally inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.
Dr Anabraba who also serves as Chairman of the Committee
highlighted the State Government’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and unity.
“These heroes have given their lives for the security and peace of our nation and deserve to be celebrated. The Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an opportunity to show our gratitude for their sacrifice,” he said.
Dr. Anabraba further extended recognition to all Security Agencies in the State, emphasizing the importance of the event in appreciating their contributions to national security and sovereignty.
The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15 across the country is dedicated to remember Nigeria’s departed soldiers and honouring the nation’s veterans.
