Akah Harps On Leadership Legacy
The Executive Chairman of Rivers State Basic Education Board (RSUBEB), Dr Fyneface Akah, has called on those in position as well as professionals to always ensure that they leave legacies for those succeeding them, which he said was the best way to drive an organisation.
Akah made the call when he received a book written on civil servants by the Director of Administration and Public Relations of the board, Mr Karibi George, in his office in Port Harcourt, last Monday.
He commended the exposure and versatility of the director for his painstaking in writing the book.
While thanking the author on behalf of the board and management, Akah hailed him for discreetly putting down in writing his experiences as a core civil servant, which he said, was part of what we were praying for in a growing system, and encouraged others to borrow a leaf from the author.
The book, ‘Write For Civil Servants’ is designed for civil servants to learn the right behaviour in communication at work places.
Earlier in his speech, the Author, Barrister Karibi George, had described the book as something that would not only be beneficial to civil servants alone but also to those in the bureaucratic settings, and thanked the board chairman for his encouragement and support towards making the publication possible.
The brief ceremony, which took place during a management meeting, yesterday, had all the commissioners and directors in attendance.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of one copy each to the commissioners and directors and some copies for the board’s library.
