Insecurity: Biometric Tricycle Capture To Check Criminality -TOAN

The Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Akwa Ibom Chapter, has said the State Government’s Biometric Capture of Tricycle would frustrate criminality and insecurity for citizens to experience effective transportation system in the State.
The State Chairman of TOAN, Comrade Effiong Effiong, stated this while speaking with journalists in Uyo over the issue of Biometric Capture of Tricycle in the State.
He advised his members to take advantage of the biometric capture exercise, saying that it is for their own good, as it would disassociate them from non-members, especially those involved in criminality.
Urging embers to always support Government’s programme and be law abiding as they go about their business, he said the biometric capture would also assist to protect their integrity as an association.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the State Government to reduce the new registration amount from N4,000.00 too N2,000.00, and renewal should be N1,500.00, due to what he called the biting economy.
Noting that TOAN has a cordial relationship with the State Ministry of Transport in ensuring a standard transportation sector in the State, he said his administration operates and open door policy with members towards the development of the association.
”As a body, TOAN is always in support of Government policies, and we are ready to work with Government to actualize the dream of effective transportation system in the State.
“This is why we take it upon ourselves to always educate our members on the ethics of our business”, Effiong said.
