Ariolu Moves To Build Healthcare Facility, Waste Receptacle In Rumuekini

The Obio/Akpor Local Government Council has rolled out plans to establish a healthcare facility to further improve the standard of living amongst indigenes and residents of Rumuekini Community.
Chairman of the council, Barrister George Ariolu, while addressing members of Rumuekini Community at the Executive Chambers, yesterday, revealed that the council would embark on the construction of a waste receptacle in the area to improve sanitation and waste management in the area.
He said, while commending the Rumuekini paramount ruler for maintaining peace and unity, there was pertinent need to partner the community for the development of the area.
According to him, the construction of the healthcare facility by the council would help to enhance healthcare delivery as well as boost economic activities in the area, particularly the Obio/Akpor fish farm project sited in the community.
Reiterating on the construction of waste receptacle, Ariolu charged them to redouble efforts in keeping the environment clean, stressing that cleanliness was a personal civic responsibility for all.
He advised them to cultivate the habit of cleanliness and always observe regular sanitation within their environment on routine basis, adding that it was a part of the culture of Iwhuruohna people.
Although, Ariolu has promised to site a healthcare facility in Rumuekini, he also frowned at the gruesome attack on contractors handling the project, describing it as unhealthy for the council and community.
He, however, assured to partner with Rumuekini for further development of the citizens in the area, especially members of the community, urging them not to relent in preaching peace amongst the people.
Paramount Ruler of Rumuekini Community, Eze Louis Wali, who spoke earlier, congratulated the chairman over his victory at the Rivers LG polls and subsequent swearing in as chairman.
He also eulogised Ariolu for his sterling leadership and achievements since assumption of office, particularly in the area of academic and human capacity development.
On his part, a member of the delegationChief Emmanuel Job, who gave the vote of thanks, lauded Ariolu for being a steadfast leader in a time it seemed like all has lost hope in governance.
He also pledged to fish out those responsible for the gruesome attack on contractors handling the proposed healthcare facility, adding that such an act was capable of hindering development and causing chaos in the area.

HoS Hails Fubara Over Provision of Accommodation for Permanent Secretaries

The Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State, Dr. Mrs. Inyingi S. I. Brown, has commended Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, for approving befitting accommodation for Permanent Secretaries in the state.

According to the Head of Service, Governor Fubara has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to the welfare of civil servants in Rivers State, stressing that such gestures underscore his people-oriented leadership style. As part of activities to mark the governor’s birthday, the Body of Permanent Secretaries announced the sponsorship of 329 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms for indigent students across the state.
A breakdown of the initiative shows that 319 forms will be distributed across the 319 political wards in Rivers State, while five forms are allocated to non-indigenes and five forms to persons living with disabilities.
