LG Boss Sues For Peace In Finima
The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Anengi Barasua, has advised the warring chieftaincy Houses in Finima Town, to sue for peace, noting that the council can no longer fold its arms and watch any person or group of persons to breach the peace of the area, in the name of chieftaincy tussle.
Briefing journalists on Wednesday in Bonny, Hon. Barasua said the act of taking laws into one’s hand cannot be tolerated henceforth.
The LGA boss further advised the warring factions to seek redress in law court, rather than breaching the peace of the area.
“ As a council, we can no longer fold our arms watching at people taking laws into their hands. I urge leaders of the warring factions to call their supporters to shield their swords. As we speak Bonny is enjoying peace and order, consequently, we cannot allow any group of persons to cause crisis” She insisted.
According to her, henceforth any act caused by anybody that is enimical to peace, unity and love, the wrath of the law will fall on the person.
“ I want to maintain that on no account should Brown House alone among 31 communities in Bonny cause security threats to the entire LGA.
“Customs and traditions of the people must be respected by various factions involved in the dispute” She stated.
